The airport, also known as Biarritz-Parme Airport (BIQ), is located just 5km south of Biarritz itself, near Anglet and Bayonne. The facility can trace its origins back over a hundred years, to the founding of the Bayonne Biarritz Aviation Committee. Although it was only in 1977 that it was granted official 'International Airport' status, it now boasts over 100,000 passengers in some of the busy months. Fairly small airport but quite efficient. Only 1 cafe on each side of check in, not much for selection. Walk from car rental return to boarding check in desk only takes a few minutes.
