Driving Rules in Turkey

Good to know when renting in Türkiye
You can rent a car from SIXT in Turkey if you are 21 or older and have held your driver’s license for 2 years or more. Some car categories have a higher minimum rental age.
You will need a valid driver’s license held for at least 2 years, plus an ID card or passport to rent with SIXT in Turkey. Renters with licenses using non-Roman alphabets like Arabic will also need an international driving permit.
One-way rentals are allowed between SIXT stations in Turkey, depending on the tariff. Contact the station you wish to rent from before booking.
We accept all major credit cards, but not prepaid or debit cards.
Select the “Pay Later” option when booking your SIXT rental and cancel your reservation free of charge if your plans change.
Turkey uses a high-speed toll system for its toll roads and bridges. Because you cannot pay with cash or cards, your vehicle must be equipped with a tag or on-board payment unit to pass through the toll area.
